Robert Scott Jackson

Robert Scott Jackson graduated from Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts, where he met and studied with artists Robert Douglas Hunter and Sidney Willis, While there, Jackson was introduced to and studied privately with the prominent Boston School artist and teacher, R.H. Ives Gammell, at his atelier in Williamstown, MA. Jackson intensified his painting efforts toward landscapes, and in 1975 opened his own studio and private atelier in Newburyport, MA. Currently, Jackson has about forty students and has practiced his art on a professional level for over 42 years.

Jackson's landscapes are stunning expressions of nature's brilliant light and color effects. Peaceful yet full of life, Jackson captures the moments in life where you must stop and take in the epic visual spectacle only nature can create. Jackson's refined technique, while grounded in traditional values, has a definitive modernity that is uniquely his own.

Jackson's present memberships include the Salmagundi Club of New York City and The Copley Society of Boston, where he became one of the first Copley Masters in 1978. His paintings are held in collections internationally. He continues to live and work in Newburyport, MA.
