"Into the Mystic" dances the line of realism and abstraction. Gene Costanza and Christopher Groves employ painterly brushstrokes and vivid colors to create dreamlike landscapes that beg viewers to meander through familiar yet spectacular spaces.
Gene Costanza finds inspiration in the coastal waterways and mountain ranges of his surrounding Cascadia, while the work of Christopher Groves sings its praises to the native marshlands and forests surrounding Charleston. Groves works in the in-between of realism and abstraction, and Costanza borrows from many schools to create his characteristic "ecclesiopressionism."
"Into the Mystic" encourages through imagination to arrive at newfound perspectives of previously known terrains.
